Gothabilly

Gothabilly emerged in the 1980s when rockabilly's cheeky rhythms collided with the dark aesthetics of goth culture, proving that you can indeed be moody whilst still wearing a quiff. The sound is a delightful concoction of reverb-drenched guitars, stand-up bass lines, and lyrics that tread the fine line between macabre and cheeky, like a graveyard picnic after dark. Interestingly, the genre has inspired a host of fans who dress like they’re off to a horror-themed Rock 'n' Roll soirée, and some chap in a leather jacket can often be found trying to convince you it's a lifestyle choice rather than just a phase.
