Glam Punk
Glam punk emerged in the mid-1970s as a cheeky mash-up of glittering glam rock and the increasingly rebellious spirit of punk, primarily in the UK, because why not cause a bit of ruckus whilst looking fabulous. It’s defined by flamboyant fashion, attitude-laden lyrics, and music that often sounds like someone turned the volume up to twelve and lit a match under a can of hairspray. If nothing else, it made it perfectly acceptable to wear sequins whilst shouting about societal issues, proving that one can indeed be both sassy and serious at the same time.
