Funk Rock

Funk Rock emerged in the late 1960s, primarily from the U.S., where musicians decided that simply playing the guitar wasn't quite flamboyant enough; they needed to add a dose of groove to their rock 'n' roll. It combines the upbeat, rhythmic bass lines of funk with rock's powerful guitar riffs and often features vocals that sound like the singer has just had a cheeky pint and is ready to party. The result is a delightful mash-up that makes your feet move whilst raising a bemused eyebrow at the sheer audacity of it all.
