French House

French House emerged in the 1990s, notably from the Parisian scene, where disco had a little flirtation with electronic beats and then promptly got to work in a shiny new studio. Characterised by funky basslines, samples from 1970s disco tracks, and that ubiquitous 'filtering' sound that makes you feel like you’ve been wrapped in a velvety musical hug, it’s the genre that turns any room into an impromptu dancefloor. Of course, it also means a delightful abundance of berets and baguettes at music festivals, because why not combine a love for music with a penchant for carbs?
