Fidget House
Fidget House originated in the early 2000s in the UK, when a bunch of DJs decided that house music was simply too calm and needed a jolly good shaking up. Characterised by its syncopated beats, cheeky basslines, and the sort of samples you’d hear at a particularly hyperactive children's party, it sounds like house music trying to impress the neighbours whilst jumping on a trampoline. It might not have taken over the world, but it has certainly given club-goers something to fidget about for years on end.
