Ethnic Music
Ethnic music, an umbrella term coined somewhere between a good pub chat and a spontaneous travel brochure, encompasses the traditional sounds of various cultures from around the globe, often dating back centuries. It includes everything from the rhythmic drumming of West African tribes to the haunting melodies of Eastern European fiddlers, sounding like a global potluck where everyone forgot to bring chips. The genre astutely captures the essence of a culture, which is probably why it’s often more emotional than your average sitcom — not that the sitcoms aren’t brilliant.
