Electronic Music
Electronic music took off in the mid-20th century when bodged-together synthesizers and a dash of science nerdiness made it possible to create sounds that are, quite frankly, otherworldly. With pulsating beats, often derived from drum machines, and robotic vocals, it sounds like a party thrown by computers, albeit one where someone forgot to invite the humans. It's been known to send people into ecstatic dance frenzies, proving that a bit of blip and beep can do wonders for the soul, though it might confuse the dog.
