Electronic Dance Music Edm
Electronic Dance Music, or EDM for the uninitiated, took root in the late 1980s and early 1990s, primarily in the clubs of Chicago and Detroit, where people discovered that computers could be as groovy as a good old-fashioned DJ. It's a sonic explosion of pulsating beats, synths, and drops designed to make you move, often accompanied by flashing lights that make you question your sanity and joy in life. Festivals now see the genre take centre stage, proving that nothing says 'I love you' quite like dancing the night away with a thousand strangers in neon leg warmers and inexplicably oversized headphones.
