Electro Pop
Electro pop emerged in the late 1970s as a cheeky fusion of catchy melodies and synth-driven beats, when it turned out you could program a computer to do most of the musical heavy lifting. Defined by its sparkly production and infectious hooks, it sounds like a futuristic disco party where everything is slightly too shiny and possibly made of plastic. Many a teenager found themselves choreographing elaborate dances in their bedrooms, proving that disco may have gone, but its spirit still boogies on in bedrooms everywhere.
