Dance Music
Dance music exploded into life in the 1980s, primarily in the underground clubs of Chicago and Detroit, where DJs discovered that repetitive beats and a bit of bass could turn even the most mundane Tuesday into an epic rave. Characterised by its thumping four-on-the-floor kick drums, pulsating synths, and somewhat questionable fashion choices, it's the soundtrack for sweaty nights and questionable decisions on the dance floor. Surprisingly, it has been remarkably influential, giving us not just some iconic tracks but also plenty of regrettable dance moves that we’re all too familiar with now.
