Dada

Dada music emerged in the early 20th century, primarily associated with the Dada art movement that sprang up in Zürich, Switzerland, like a cheeky toddler throwing crayons everywhere for the sake of 'art'. Characterised by its complete disregard for traditional musical structure, it often features dissonance, chance operations, and a healthy dose of nonsense; it's like someone threw a party for sounds everyone forgot to RSVP to. Although it may sound like a racket to the untrained ear, it fundamentally challenged artistic norms and paved the way for avant-garde movements, proving that sometimes the most bonkers ideas are the ones that stick around.
