Crossover Classical

Crossover Classical emerged in the late 20th century, chiefly as a brazen attempt to entice mainstream audiences into the hallowed halls of highbrow symphonies, whilst assuring them that it wouldn’t hurt a bit. It sounds a bit like Mozart having a tea party with rock musicians, where grand orchestral arrangements elegantly flirt with pop sensibilities, often leaving purists clutching their pearls in dismay. The genre has resulted in an array of chart-topping hits, proving that classical music can indeed wear a leather jacket and squeak onto the charts with a cheeky wink.
