Composition
Composition music, which started making waves in the late 19th century primarily in Western classical traditions, is essentially a fancy name for music that’s been carefully crafted rather than simply performed. It’s characterised by intricate melodies, harmonies, and structures, or as I like to say, it's the musical equivalent of a posh meal where every course is designed to impress while the chef tries not to drop anything. Often associated with symphonic works and formal settings, it’s the type of music that makes you feel decidedly fancy whilst wondering if you should really be clapping after the first movement.
