Ceremonial
Ceremonial music emerged from ancient cultures as a way to punctuate important events, such as weddings, funerals, and the occasional coronation, mainly to distract attendees from the fact that everything was probably running late. It's characterised by rich, often orchestral compositions designed to evoke feelings of grandeur or solemnity, which is quite handy when you want to mask the sound of awkward silence or questionable vows. Interestingly, it’s also the reason why your friend with the kazoo probably isn’t getting a solo at your wedding anytime soon.
