Celtic Rock
Celtic Rock burst onto the scene in the 1960s, when someone realised that the lively sounds of traditional Irish and Scottish music could be improved by adding a few electric guitars and a healthy dose of rebellion. Characterised by foot-stomping jigs and reels blended with rock rhythms, it sounds like the kind of party where the ceilidh dancers might join a mosh pit—if they haven't already had a pint or two. This genre is essentially a friendly reminder that folk musicians can also know how to rock out, proving yet again that bad habits, like enjoying music, are really quite good for you.
