British Hip Hop

British hip hop kicked off in the late 1980s thanks to a bunch of cheeky geezers borrowing a bit from American rap whilst adding their own sense of dry wit and social commentary. It's a delightful mix of catchy beats, clever wordplay, and a penchant for accent-soaked storytelling, proving that rhyming slang and rhythm can coexist rather beautifully. The scene has evolved so much that it's arguably responsible for more slang than a hearty pub chat, influencing everything from grime to the charts.
