British Blues
British Blues emerged in the early 1960s, when a bunch of clever blokes decided to fuse American blues with a distinctly British sensibility, presumably after a pint or two. This genre is characterised by its raw guitar riffs, soulful vocals, and a tendency to brood about heartbreak with a stiff upper lip. It not only paved the way for the British rock explosion but also taught a generation that feeling miserable could actually sound quite marvellous.
