Brazilian Jazz

Brazilian Jazz, or Bossa Nova if you fancy a bit of flair, emerged in the late 1950s from the sunny shores of Rio de Janeiro, combining samba rhythm with a dash of American jazz to create something quite delicious. It sounds as though the musicians were having a relaxed conversation over caipirinhas, boasting smooth melodies and intricate harmonies that occasionally make you forget your worries, unless you’re trying to dance. Notably, it redefined coolness; if you weren't sipping a cocktail and discussing existentialism, were you even really enjoying it?
