Bhangra
Bhangra originated in the Punjab region of India and Pakistan, initially as a lively celebration of the harvest, which is a lovely way of saying it was an excuse for a jolly dance-off. It's characterised by upbeat rhythms, infectious dhol drumming, and a cheeky mix of traditional instruments and modern beats that makes you want to get up and shake your hips—whether you can dance or not is entirely secondary. Over the years, it's been spun into a global phenomenon, proving that even the most serious boardroom meetings can break into spontaneous dance parties, much to everyone's surprise (and slight embarrassment).
