Baggy

Baggy emerged in the late 1980s in the UK as a delightful mash-up of indie pop and acid house, essentially a sonic party that encouraged all the eclectic kids to throw on their bucket hats and dance like no one was watching. It's characterised by jangly guitars, upbeat rhythms, and a strange insistence on wearing oversized clothing, as if the music itself demanded a less-than-svelte silhouette. This genre brought together club culture and indie, proving that if you can’t find your way to the dancefloor, simply make the dancefloor come to you, preferably in a haze of patchouli and good vibes.
