Acting
Acting music, more commonly understood as musical theatre, really hit its stride in the mid-20th century, initially blossoming on Broadway and the West End. It’s a delightful concoction of song, dance, and overly dramatic emotion, where performers belt out tunes whilst somehow managing to convey their internal turmoil as if it’s all just part of the job. This genre has produced an onslaught of iconic numbers that even the most reluctant audiences find themselves singing in the shower when no one is watching, much to the bewilderment of their housemates.
