Acoustic Pop
Acoustic pop emerged in the late 1990s, when artists discovered the joys of strumming guitars and writing heartwarming songs about love, heartbreak, and the occasional existential crisis, all without the clutter of overproduced beats. It's characterised by its catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics, often delivered in a style that suggests the artist is serenading you personally, perhaps slightly too close for comfort. In a world dominated by synthetic sounds, it’s rather lovely to know that people still value sweet tunes played on actual instruments, though you’d be hard-pressed to find a pub that doesn’t have at least one slightly overzealous performer trying their hand at it on a Saturday night.
