Sam Butera & the Witnesses were an American rhythm and blues and jump blues band formed in New Orleans in the 1950s, emerging from the city's R&B and jazz scene and later becoming a regular presence on the Las Vegas lounge circuit. Their saxophone-led, high-energy arrangements blended jump blues, early rock and roll and swing, bridging New Orleans R&B with nightclub entertainment traditions and adapting over time for both small-club and big-room performances.
