Fripp & Eno are a British experimental ambient and electronic duo formed in the early 1970s, originating from studio collaborations between a guitarist and a composer/producer and initially focusing on long-form instrumental recordings. Their work employed tape-looping, guitar processing and synthesiser textures to create layered, sustained soundscapes, evolving from studio experiments into ambient releases that intersected with progressive rock and electronic music scenes and contributed to subsequent developments in ambient and electronic composition.
