Ned Rothenberg

Ned Rothenberg is an American composer and multi-reed instrumentalist from New York who began his career in the late 1970s and is associated with free improvisation, experimental and contemporary classical music. He combines extended techniques on clarinets and saxophones with composed structures, improvisation, non-Western influences and electronics, working across solo, chamber and ensemble contexts within the downtown New York experimental scene.
