Miguel Llobet Solés was a Catalan classical guitarist and arranger born in Barcelona in 1878 who began his career in the late 19th century, performing and teaching in Spain before touring and living abroad. He was notable for his arrangements of Catalan folk songs and solo-guitar transcriptions, for developing right-hand technique and tone for the modern classical guitar, and for helping to disseminate Spanish and Catalan repertoire across Europe and the Americas.
