Dennis Brain

Dennis Brain was an English horn player from London who began his professional career in the 1940s within the classical music tradition, specialising in orchestral and chamber repertoire. Noted for a clear, lyrical tone and precision of technique, his performances and recordings contributed to the expansion of the horn's solo and chamber repertoire through collaborations with contemporary composers and ensembles and shaped mid-20th-century approaches to the instrument.
