Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet is a free-jazz large ensemble formed in the late 1990s by German saxophonist Peter Brötzmann during extended visits to Chicago, bringing together European and American improvisers associated with the city's creative-music scene. The group's music combines intense collective improvisation with large-ensemble textures and extended techniques, blending strands of European free improvisation with the Chicago scene's approaches and evolving through a sequence of recordings and live performances that emphasise ensemble dynamics.
