Louis-François Dauprat
Louis-François Dauprat was a French horn player and composer born in Bayonne in 1781 who began his career in the early 19th century within the French classical tradition. He served as a professor at the Paris Conservatoire, promoted the natural horn, published pedagogical works and composed concertos and chamber pieces that reflect the transition from Classical to early Romantic styles and emphasise the technical development of horn playing.
