Mark Schatz

Mark Schatz is an American bassist and multi-instrumentalist who emerged on the professional acoustic music scene in the late 1970s and is primarily associated with bluegrass, old-time and contemporary acoustic genres. Known for his rhythmic bass technique, melodic playing and facility with multiple instruments, his career has encompassed traditional bluegrass ensembles, contemporary acoustic collaborations and instructional work within the acoustic music community.
