Arturo Márquez

Arturo Márquez is a Mexican composer born in Álamos, Sonora, in 1950 who established his career in the late 20th century composing orchestral and chamber works rooted in classical and contemporary traditions. His work frequently incorporates traditional Mexican dance forms such as the danzón and huapango, blending rhythmic patterns and orchestral colour to bring popular and regional rhythms into concert repertoire.
