Katherine Hoover

Katherine Hoover was an American classical composer and flautist who began her career as a performer in the mid-20th century before increasingly focusing on composition. Her works, often featuring the flute and written for chamber ensembles and orchestra, blend lyrical, tonal melodies with modal and folk-influenced elements and reflect the growth of American contemporary classical repertoire for wind instruments.
