Phil Spector

Phil Spector was an American record producer and songwriter from the Bronx, New York, who began his career in the late 1950s and worked primarily in pop, rock and R&B. He developed the 'Wall of Sound', a dense, layered production technique that shaped 1960s pop production and influenced subsequent producers, and his later career included collaborations as well as legal troubles that resulted in a murder conviction.
