La Monte Young

La Monte Young is an American composer who began his career in the late 1950s and is associated with experimental, minimalist and drone music. His use of long-duration sustained tones, exploration of just intonation and tuned drones contributed to the development of minimalism and experimental sound art and influenced subsequent generations of composers and sound artists.
