Charles Hayward is an English drummer, percussionist and experimental musician who began his career in the 1970s and was a founding member of the post-punk/experimental rock band This Heat. His work combines inventive rhythmic techniques with elements of post-punk, experimental rock and free improvisation, evolving through solo projects and collaborative ensembles and contributing to the development of the UK's experimental music and post-punk underground.
