Gordon Jacob
Gordon Jacob was an English composer and teacher, born in 1895, whose career began in the early 20th century and centred on classical composition for orchestral, chamber, choral and wind-band repertoire. His musical style is broadly tonal with an emphasis on counterpoint and clear orchestration, and over a long career he produced numerous works for winds and educational pieces while holding teaching posts that shaped later British composers.
