John Hammond

John Hammond is an American blues singer and guitarist from New York City who began his career in the early 1960s, performing acoustic and electric blues within the broader roots and folk traditions. His musical style draws on country blues and Chicago blues and later incorporated folk and rock elements as he moved between acoustic and electric instrumentation, participating in the blues revival movements from the 1960s onward.
