Peter Warlock was the pen name of an English composer and critic active from the early 20th century, whose career centred on art song, choral works and chamber music. His music blended revived Elizabethan and folk idioms with modal harmonies and expressive piano writing, and he contributed to the early‑music revival and to developments in British song practice of the period.
