William Croft

William Croft was an English Baroque composer and organist, born in 1678, who built his career in London within the Church of England and royal musical establishments. His output of choral, organ and instrumental music combined contrapuntal technique with expressive hymnody characteristic of the English Baroque, and his compositions contributed to the development of English sacred repertoire.
