Deon van der Walt was a South African operatic tenor who trained and began his career in South Africa before developing an international operatic career from the 1980s onwards. He specialised in lyric tenor repertoire, particularly Mozart and bel canto roles, appearing at major European opera houses and contributing to the international presence of South African opera singers.
