William Boyce

William Boyce was an English composer and organist born in London in 1711 who established his career in the mid-18th century writing church music, odes and music for the theatre. His style blends Baroque contrapuntal techniques with emerging Classical clarity, and his collected works later provided material for the 19th- and 20th-century revival of English Baroque church music.
