David Jackson is an English saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist who began his career in the late 1960s and is best known for his work in the progressive rock and experimental music scenes as a member of Van der Graaf Generator. He became identified with amplified and electronically treated saxophones, frequently playing multiple horns simultaneously and blending jazz, classical and avant-garde techniques, and his later solo and collaborative projects have continued to explore improvisation and textural experimentation within the British progressive context.
