Roger Désormière
Roger Désormière was a French conductor born in 1898 who trained at the Paris Conservatoire and began his conducting career in the 1920s, working across opera, ballet and orchestral repertoire. He frequently conducted premieres and recordings of contemporary French repertoire and was active in Parisian musical institutions and radio during and after the Second World War, contributing to the performance and dissemination of 20th-century French music.
