Etta James

Etta James was an American singer born in Los Angeles who began her recording career in the mid-1950s and performed across rhythm and blues, gospel, soul and jazz. Her musical style blended raw blues and gospel intensity with soulful phrasing, and over decades she incorporated jazz and pop standards, helping to bridge R&B and mainstream popular music and influencing numerous later vocalists.
