Nicolas Altstaedt is a German-French classical cellist and conductor, born in Karlsruhe in 1982, who began his career studying and performing as a soloist and chamber musician in the early 2000s. His repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music, and his musical approach combines elements of historically informed performance with modern interpretation while he also works as an artistic director and frequent collaborator with European ensembles and festivals.
