Garoto was a Brazilian guitarist and composer who began his career in the 1930s, rooted in choro and samba traditions. He combined classical guitar technique with popular Brazilian rhythms and arrangements, contributing to the development of instrumental guitar repertoire and influencing later movements such as bossa nova.
