Ike Turner (born Izear Luster Turner Jr.; 5 November 1931 – 12 December 2007) was an American musician, bandleader, songwriter and record producer whose career spanned rhythm and blues, rock and roll, rockabilly, soul and funk. He led the Ike Turner Revue and co-created the musical partnership known as Ike & Tina Turner, contributing to early rock and roll through his recordings and session work.
