Franz Tunder

Franz Tunder was a German Baroque organist and composer, born in 1614, who served as organist at the Marienkirche in Lübeck from the mid-17th century and worked primarily in sacred and instrumental genres. Associated with the North German organ school, his music blends Lutheran chorale-based vocal writing with organ continuo practices and contributed to the development of public devotional concerts in Lübeck often referred to as the Abendmusiken.
