Ray Drummond
Ray Drummond is an American jazz double bassist from Brookline, Massachusetts, who emerged on the New York jazz scene in the 1970s and has worked primarily within post-bop and mainstream jazz idioms. As both a long-time sideman and leader of his own ensembles, his playing emphasises melodic soloing, walking bass lines and strong time feel, and he has contributed to jazz education and the development of post-bop repertory through recordings and teaching.
