Hamza El Din

Hamza El Din was a Nubian Egyptian musician from the Nile Valley who began his career in the mid-20th century as an oud player and composer rooted in Nubian folk traditions. His music combined traditional Nubian rhythms and modal melodies with elements of Western classical and improvisational practice, and he helped introduce Nubian musical idioms to international audiences through performances and recordings.
